Vail really does a great job of catering to all kinds of guests who are here on vacation, and families are no exception. Vail Resorts and Highline Sports recently hosted Vail Holidaze - a brand new week-long event with kid-friendly bands performing, a world-class skating extravaganza, snowman building contests and Santa's Workshops. This week, there's the annual Skate Club Vail "Holidays on Ice" skating show. There's also a "First Night Family" New Year's Eve event with ice skating, children's activities and watching the ball drop in NYC on the big screen (10pm MST). Special events like this happen all season long.

Where Vail really shines is in the everyday family events. Our neighbor, the Vail Library hosts a great Children's Story Hour that has crafts, too. Imagination Station across the street is perfect for the younger crowd - think painting station, dress-up station, music, crafts, games and more. Adventure Ridge at the top of Vail Mountain is geared towards all ages, but is particularly great for teens who love the tubing hill and ski biking. There are also all sorts of things like free concerts to enjoy as a family, torchlight ski down parade in Beaver Creek every week, shopping, dining, sledding, sleigh ride dinners, ski museums, and of course – skiing and snowboarding.

Come spend some quality time with your family in Vail this winter. You won’t be sorry you did!
