Get ready to find some amazing deals this weekend at the 40th Annual Ski & Snowboard Swap in Vail, Colorado!  The swap is hands down the best place to find deals on new and gently used gear - skis, snowboards, boots, cross country gear, goggles, hats, gloves, clothing and more.  Dobson Ice Arena, located just to the east of Lodge at Lionshead, hosts the swap each year and it is filled to the rafters with everything you could possibly need for the season.

Here's the schedule:

October 30:
5-7pm $15 early bird admission
7-11pm $10 admission

October 31:
10am-2pm $5 admission
2-6pm FREE admission

There is an art to shopping the swap.  If you are in the market for the best gear and lots of it, go early.  The line starts forming prior to the 5pm early bird door opening on Friday and you'll want to be in it.  Lodge at Lionshead is so close to Dobson that you can cruise over throughout the afternoon to see how the line looks.  If it's getting started, jump in.  If not, hang out in your condo a little while longer.  Have your $15 ready and once you're through the door ask helpful volunteers where to start based on what you want to purchase.  Local ski/ snowboard vendors are in attendance all weekend manning the gear sections, so you can be assured of expert fitting and advice.  You'll quickly recoup your $15 admission fee in savings alone.  Everyone loves a good bargain!

If you don't really need new gear or just need to stock up on the accessories like ski socks, hats, base layers and the like, then go on Saturday.  It's a lot quieter then and you won't be fighting the crowds, but you'll still get great deals on the basics!

All proceeds go to support Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, a local non-profit organization which has turned out Olympians Sarah Schleper, Chad Fleischer and most notably two-time World Cup Champion in 2008 & 2009, Lindsey Vonn.
