At first glance, I'm sure you're thinking, "What in the world is she talking about?".  This is certainly not a blog title you would normally expect.  Let me explain.  The Pimps of Joytime is a 5-piece multi-ethnic group whose sound has been described as “swaggering funk, infused with bluesy Latin and African flavors” (Time Out New York).   Kenny G is the best-selling instrumentalist in the world and a multi-platinum superstar.  Both are performing in the Vail area tonight.

You can find The Pimps of Joytime performing at the FREE Bud Light Street Beat concert at 6pm tonight in front of the Solaris in Vail Village.  Kenny G is performing at the Vilar Center for the Performing Arts - or VPAC, as it is affectionately known - at 7:30pm in Beaver Creek.  TIckets start at $100.  I would imagine both will draw different crowds, but that is the whole point of my post.  Vail offers something for everyone, anytime of year.  Vail is not just skiing or snowboarding.  Vail has great culture and it shows with the wide variety of options available including concerts, dance performances, operas, art shows and comedy troupes.  The variety is also apparent in the festivals offered in Vail.  For instance, in a few weeks you can wine and dine at the 20th Annual Taste of Vail where prices for individual events range from $60 to $195.  The very next week you can attend Spring Back to Vail where you can see national acts like the Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars, Wyclef Jean, Robert Earl Keane and Guster all for FREE.  It's a beautiful thing and one of the reasons Vail can call itself a resort "like nothing on earth".
