After a lengthy and rather snowy off-season, summer finally arrived in the Vail Valley a few weeks ago.  The warm weather and sunshine have been most welcome!  Since we didn't have much of a spring to ease into summer, it seems shocking that all of the sudden it's warm AND summer events are starting.  The hugely successful Teva Mountain Games took place this past weekend and FREE concerts start next week.  How did that happen so quickly???

The Vail Valley Foundation has announced another great line up of FREE shows this summer.  If you've attended these in the past, you know they are not only entertaining, but the place to see-and-be-seen on a Tuesday night in Vail.  Here's a look at the upcoming schedule:

6.14 - Grupo Fantasma - "Latin-funk masters", a Grammy Award-winning 10-piece orchestra
6.21 - Super Diamond - awesome Neil Diamond cover band
6.28 - Shannon McNally & Hot Sauce - blend of soul, blues and Americana
7.12 - Great Big Sea - Canadian folk-rock band
7.19 - Kyle Hollingsworth Band - Member of acclaimed band The String Cheese Incident
7.26 - Hot Summer Nights of Dance: Buckets & Tap Shoes - part of the Vail International Dance Festival
8.16 - Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band - Nu Funk, but you know you want to go just because of the name
8.23 - Caroline Wonderland - the soulful vocals of Janis and the guitar slinging skills of Stevie Ray
8.30 - Cracker - an American alternative rock band

Shows are free and start at 6:30pm.  Covered seats are available or you can pull up a spot on the lawn and bring a picnic with you.  That's our favorite way to do it.  There are concessions available if you don't want to bring your own food in and alcoholic beverages may only be purchased in Ford Amphitheater.  Enjoy the shows!
