Mardi Gras is late this year - March 6-11 - but better late than never, we say.  Come celebrate high country style at Vail's very own Carnivail.  Festivities include the ever-popular World's Highest Low-country Crawfish Boil at Eagle's Nest on Sunday, March 6.  Take our advice and ski or ride hard in the morning because you won't want to attempt this after hurricanes and jambalaya on the sunny deck at 10,000 ft.  For the safety of yourself and others, you can ride the gondola down at the end of the day.  It really is a brilliant set up!

A family favorite is the Fat Tuesday parade in Vail Village.  If you don't have kids, you can skip the parade, but don't miss the free concert by Frogs Gone Fishin' at Checkpoint Charlie.  World famous band Buckwheat Zydeco will close the week's festivities with another free concert on Friday at Solaris in Vail.  Of course, all week long there will be special menus with plenty of Cajun specialties at various restaurants throughout Vail and Lionshead.

It's low key, but a really fun time to be in Vail.  We'll even help you pre-order your beads and King Cakes - just give us a call.  Laissez les bon temps roulez!
