My Feet are Cold

So I refuse to give up the flip flops and skirts to the chilly weather we have been experiencing.  Although my thoughts in the office are for the upcoming ski season, my heart is still trying to plan as many camping trips as possible.  Another season is upon us, and I had a great summer going to so many music events in the mountains.  Hot Summer Nights, Vail Dance Festival, Guitar Fest at Cooper Mountain and Jazz at Vail Square are amoung the few events; this year has been the best!  I suggest that if you missed Vail this summer that you plan on it next

Bike camp for kids

I have to let everyone know that Vail Mountain Bike Camp is the best.  My daughter, Tillie, is definately a much better rider since attending camp and came away with a feeling of accomplishment.  It was good to know that she was outside experiencing the Vail Mountain in a different way than in the winter.  Going to this camp has made our personal bike rides fun and enjoyable.  Mia and Shane do a great job so check them out at http://www.vailmountainbikecamps.com/.

Summer / Winter / Summer / Winter

Spring has sprung and the grass is green. It's great to get outside and play. Summer is just around the corner and we are hoping everyone comes to Vail to beat the heat at 2006 rates. Although we constantly have Summer on our minds, I have been working on Winter reservations. Thinking of Summer, planning Winter; Summer / Winter.

Thanks for the Memories

Another ski season in Vail, Colorado is ending which always leaves a spot in my heart as I hate to see it go. I look back at all the faces of our return guests who are more like friends or family and smile. It was so good to see all of you and some we missed this year. I would like to send a special "Thank You" to all of those who did return to Lodge at Lionshead during these trying economical times:

Neville Family, Schlosser Family, Engle Family, Matt Nichter & Frank Malone Group, Constandse Family, John Fitch, Salah Family,

The Last Run

Tillie & I spent our last day on the mountain for the 2008-2009 ski season. We are headed to CA to visit family & friends so we're leaving ahead of the mountain closing. Our last day was a beautiful fun day of skiing with absolutely the best snow conditions of the season. We did all of Tillie's favorites; Chaos canyon, Magical Forest and the snowboard park. We skied down to Lionshead thinking we were done, on a whim I asked if she wanted to go up chair 8 for just 1 more run and surprisingly the answer was YES. So we clicked back in our skies and hit it for 1 more fabulous run.

Marvilloso

What a special day!  Tillie & I skied with return guests of the Lodge at Lionshead who have become wonderful friends; Antonio, Alma and Tonio Correa.  The sun was shining, there was 5-6" of new snow on Vail Mountain and we skied all day long.  While I finished a bit of work in the office, the kids swam in the pool.  We finished our day with a lovely meal in their condo.  The more time we spend sharing stories of our lives the more we feel like family.  I will be sad to say good-bye to them tomorrow but will look forward to seeing Antonio and Alm
