It's Friday in Vail & That Means F.A.C.!!!

F.A.C. or Friday Afternoon Club starts in a few short hours.  With Colorado bluebird skies and lots of sunshine it is the perfect day for cocktails on a sunny deck!  The biggest question is which F.A.C.

Come See the Cultural Side of Vail...for FREE!

I walked next door to the Vail Library during my lunch break today and listened to an amazing chamber music quartet for free!  It was one of the Public Performances that is part of the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.  Bravo!

Beaver Creek Rodeo Tonight

Did you know that we have a regular rodeo here in the Vail Valley during the summer?  Not many people do.  Every Thursday night starting at 6pm, the Beaver Creek Rodeo takes place at Chapel Square in Avon which is a short 10 miles from Vail.  Athlete events include Bare Back Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and Bull Riding.  However, some of the best spectator events are the crowd-participation family events.  These include Burro Racing for parents, Calf Scramble Kids where kids try to get ribbons off of the calf's tails and Muttin Bustin' where the youngest

Awesome Vail Summer Camps...You'll Wish You Were Still a Kid

There is no shortage of kid-friendly activities in Vail during the summer, so you should never have to hear the phrase, "but mom/ dad - there is nothing to do!" Some of our favorite recommendations are the wide variety of summer camps available in the area. The staples are Camp Vail and Pre-Kamp Vail, but that's just a start. Here's a look at the best options out there:

FFAC (Family Friday Afternoon Club) in Lionshead

Fridays in Lionshead mean fun for all ages.  For the over 21 crowd, FAC or Friday Afternoon Club is a short gondola ride away at Eagle's Nest atop Vail Mountain.  A different band performs each Friday and there is plenty of room to sit on the expansive patio if you get there early.  On a nice night, it totally fills up!  Food and drink are readily available and the views of Mount of the Holy Cross and the Gore Range are breathtaking!  You'll probably see deer and maybe even a bear down below in the meadows on the gondola ride.

Calling All Music Lovers

Last night was opening night for the 22nd season of the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival and there was a packed house at Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre.  The Dallas Symphony Orchestra received rave reviews and will be performing through July 8.  The Philadelphia Orchestra will be performing from July 10 - 18 with the New York Philharmonic closing Bravo!

Fourth of July in the Vail Valley

It's going to be a busy week in Vail, Colorado.  July 4th is historically the busiest week of the summer and with all of the holiday events planned, it's easy to see why.  The Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival begins this week and each town in the Valley has its own version of July 4th festivities.  That means you could see fireworks in Vail, Avon, Beaver Creek or Eagle and attend any number of parades, picnics and concerts.  However, if you must narrow your celebration to the best of the best - here's what we suggest:

Whitewater Rafting in Vail

I spoke with a good friend of mine over the weekend who said water levels are peaking on the Arkansas River right now and the rafting is awesome!  He is a guide for Lakota Guides, one of the most reputable rafting companies in the Vail Valley.  The Arkansas River is just one of the rivers available for rafting in the area and has a wide variety of trips.  He guided the Numbers section this weekend which is rated Class IV on a scale of I - V.  For a more moderate, but still exciting trip, you can raft Brown's Canyon (Class III) which is south of the Numbers.  For t
