Construction Criticism

Construction. There is always springtime construction in Vail. We are all used to it by now. They start the day after the mountain closes. It’s inevitable. What projects are they doing this summer? Where will there be slow downs, road closures, path closures, etc. Well, I was wondering the same thing. I hopped on our Lodge cruiser and headed out to see for myself and thought I would share my findings with everyone. It’s always nice to have a bit of insight to things happening around us.

New to Vail 2011-2012 Ski Season: Final Installment

6 days until Vail’s Opening Day. It’s finally here. The Vail crew has been able to make a ton of snow and has gotten the mountain in good shape for Friday. We could use, as always, a big snow to get everyone fired up for the season, though. Everyone do a snow dance! Here are a few more things that are new to Vail this season.

The Countdown Continues: 18 More days til Vail Ski season 2011-2012

18 more days, snow on the horizon, and people wondering up and down the streets of Vail with new gear in hand: It must be time for my second installment of “What’s New”! The fine folks on Vail Mountain will begin making snow any day now. We had one great snow last week that has stuck with us and more to come today! They are calling for about 5 inches for down here in Lionshead Village. Sounds good to me! Here are just a few more items that you will see new this season on Vail Mountain.

The Countdown to the 2011-2012 Ski Season Begins!

Snow is covering the Gore Range and the leaves are quickly disappearing from their branches here in the Rockies. That means the 2011/2012 ski season is right around the corner! Therefore, I feel the need to share some of the things that you will find new on Vail Mountain this season. Over the next few weeks, I will talk about everything new and different from last season, from new events to new lunch spots on the Mountain. Instead of covering everything in one entry, I will cover one topic at a time leading up to November 18th, letting the excitement build, one blog at a time.

The Summer of Awesome

It’s a beautiful fall day today and the leaves are in full change mode. This makes me realize how AWESOME it is to live in Vail, especially in the non-snowy months.

Two New Restaurants. Two Famous Names.

The Vail restaurant scene is ever-changing and ever-evolving. Here is the latest update and review on what’s new to the Village for the 2011-2012 season!

Vail's Greatest Celebration of Fall!

It’s time to dust off those steins and practice your keg bowling skills, Oktoberfest is here! Whether you travel to Beaver Creek for the day, take the Gore Creek path to Lionshead Village for the festivities, or hop on the bus to Vail, there will be no lack of beer and fun. If you have never been to an Oktoberfest, you have 3 weeks to get out and take advantage of this exciting tradition. Here is what's on tap:
